About Us
The Northwood Athletics Association, Inc., is a non-profit organization of parents, students, alumni, staff, and community members that promotes and supports Northwood High School's teams, coaches, and student/athletes. The association aims to create community, spirit, and pride for Northwood’s teams and augment their success through funding, advocacy, and promotion.
The Northwood Athletics Association goals are to:
- conduct various fundraising activities to help fund field maintenance, equipment purchases, individual team essentials, and support for Northwood student athletes in need,
- serve as a non-profit fiduciary for Northwood’s athletic teams,
- act as a communications channel and advocate to the NHS Athletic Department, Administration, and MCPS on behalf of teams and student athletes,
- honor Northwood athletes by assisting the NHS Athletic Department with season-end awards nights and hosting an annual Senior Sports Banquet to honor Northwood athletes upon completion of their high school athletic careers,
- support individuals in the Northwood community (members, parents, athletes, students, staff, etc.) that wish to produce an event or program to raise spirit around an NHS athletic program, team, or event,
- promote school spirit through the production and sales of spirit wear (clothing that promotes Northwood).
